ABC Program for Ranchi City: The government census for 2001 estimated that there were around 30,000 stray dogs in Ranchi. Over the past five years, this number has been steadily growing. HOPE & Animal Trust is implementing a mass sterilisation and vaccination programme to reduce the number of stray dogs and risk of rabies for the people in association and support of Ranchi Municipal Corporation. A Resource & Treatment Centre on Livestock farming: We are trying to develop and build a Resource and Treatment Centre for the local community to make them understand about the value of animals beyond their economic value, and educate how humane farming and animal care can help provide a sustainable livelihood for the people. Animal Hospital for ALL Animals The animals that live on the streets are often plagued with diseases and injuries. We aim to help relieve their suffering by providing basic emergency care in response to calls from the public. We will also provide veterinary care for pets and farm animals. Rescue and Rehabilitation Ranchi is the difficult place to work in rescuing animals due to people and law and order problem. However, first time in the history of Jharkhand with the support of administration, we were able to destroy the illegal animal trade and take the custody of few animals. DFO and Asst. Conservator of Forest also ceased about 300 exotic birds. It is a biggest rescue effort initiated by our group
